Frequently Asked Questions.

How do I get ready for an estate sale?

All you need to do to get ready for an estate sale is to remove personal papers as well as any items that are not going to be for sale. It’s that easy. We will do all of the organizing and staging.

Can anyone be living in the house during prep and sale?

Unfortunately, we normally do not prep or conduct sales if anyone is living in the house. Since we typically use every single room and countertop in the house, it makes it impossible for anyone to live there.

What happens with unsold items after the sale is over?

Ultimately, it’s up to the homeowner how the unsold items will be taken care of. We can provide you with a list of donation places, buy-out companies, auction houses and clean-out services. We are here to help make this an easy process for you.

How do you know what to price things?

Each one of our team members has unique experiences in different fields, including fine jewelry, designer brands, costume jewelry, tools, fishing equipment, hunting gear, camera equipment, antiques, etc. We do thorough research to find the most updated and accurate pricing. We have a large network of resources. Our goal is to make you the most money and find new homes for all of your things.

How much do you charge for your services?

Retro Betties works on a percentage system. For an estate sale at your home we charge 40% of total sales. If we add your things to another sale the fee is 50%. There are no hidden fees. We will provide you with a cashiers check within a few days after the sale is over.

What form of payments do you accept at your estate sales?

We accept cash, credit cards, Apple Pay, Zelle and Venmo. Having these options makes it fast and easy for our customers to pay.
